I feigned interest in their products and proceeded to ask a few questions about the product which required them to spend time answering me in detail. The answer to one question would result in the asking of two or three more questions. If they answered those, I'd ask five or six more.
One guy must have spent at least 2 to 3 hours answering my questions day before yesterday. He finally got so fed up that he stopped responding even though I have sent 4 e:mails asking for his reply.
Yesterday and today, I noticed that I have been taken off his list as I didn't receive any e:mails from him and I usually get at least three to four per day from him.
I figure if the war drags out another 50 or 60 days, I should be able to get myself removed from nearly all lists! :)
perhaps guided tours of baghdad wasn't such a good idea .... :)
i had a web hosting customer who simply gave up and his domain name now points to a holding page. he was getting around 30 spams a day in january - doesn't matter to me because all his email goes straight to trash. i tried an experiment in february - i went in the trash box every day and unsubscribed him from every spam going. he now gets around 50 spams a day.
i must remember to ask him how the hell he managed to get on so many lists ..... and then sign up some spammers to those same lists .....
