The iraqi official news agency, INA, has a site www.uruklink.net. Other than I do not speak one iota of arabic, they have a small button at the bottom of the page that links to an external tracking service, nedstatbasic.net. Yesterday was a spike in their traffic.

Cute when it is done by personal sites, depressing when it is done by large organizations.

Other than that, Tariq Aziz has fled Iraq.

I get the suspicion that the INA web stats are
going to flat line pretty soon (that is unless they host outside their own country).

I think awcabot had it right in that the real story is that of a news site using open external tracking. That's wild to watch logs like that! Rare that we get to see those types of statitistics.
