My friend has a sony vaio with win me loaded on it. The problem is I can't get it to boot up, everytime I start it up, it will go through new hardware found, then after not finding the software for it, (it doesn't display what type of hardware) then I just get a screen, no safe mode or anything. How do I get it to start in safe mode? During startup I have tried pressing F8 and nothing, just sits and beeps at me like I'm an idiot. What to do?
