Forget the Google dance, it is time for the real big dance to begin. The NCAA Men's College Basketball tournement is upon us. What are your predictions?

Here are mine:

Final Four:
Arizona
Pittsburgh
Xaiver
Wake Forest

Kind of going out on a limb with some of those but I don't think there is any team that isn't suspect for an upset.

Sleeper picks? Missouri, Alabama, Creighton, and Miss. St will all be dangerous. And of course I have to put a plug in for Gonzaga. It will be tough for them to get past Arizona in the second round but they have 4 good big men who can match up with Arizona up front.

Upset Specials: Watch for Central Michigan, Weber St., Butler, Penn, and San Diego to make some noise. The will probably keep their first round games close and a couple of them will give us an upset.

Anyone else?

Wishful thinking picks:

Texas
Oklahoma
Missouri
Kansas

Money Picks:
------------
Texas
Oklahoma
Kentucky
Duke

The real story is the western bracket - there will be some incredible games out there.

"western bracket"

That bracket is stacked. The Salt Lake regional games will be great. They got some great games and some great teams. Here in Spokane we got stuck with the worst group of games out of any of the first round cities. I get to go to the games tomorrow but for some reason I am not too excited to watch Wisconson, Stanford, and the like.

DrCool - up in Spokane, huh? I'm down in Tri-Cities. If there's ever a Washington / N'west WW get together please keep me in mind.

My Final 4 picks:

Kentucky
Kansas
Texas
Oklahoma

I have Kentucky beating Oklahoma for the title.

I think the Big 12 was head and shoulders the strongest conference around this year. Arizona will struggle against a team that can rebound and shoot well. I have Gonzaga beating them in one of my two pool entries.

Should be a fun tournament.

In our pool I have Duke vs Florida with Duke taking the win.

My bracket is already in the toilet. I have 9 losses so far with the evening games to go tonight. Luckily nearly all the games I picked wrong aren't going too far in my bracket. I only have two of the teams that lost going to the Sweet Sixteen.

DrCool, I also have 9 wrong so far. My wife, meanwhile, who typically uses jersey colors, mascots, team nicknames, and things like that to pick, only has 5 wrong........

I can smell a Maryland-Texas showdown. I believe this is five straight Sweet Sixteen appearances for UMD :) Go Terps!

I've already lost 2 of my 4 Final Four teams.

That Arizona-Gonzaga game was one of the best college basketball games I have ever seen. It was within a basket or two for nearly all the game and Gonzaga had 2 chances to win in the second overtime. I am glad they played so well but it would have been nice to see the upset.

DrCool, How about MD's first round scare to UNC-Wilmington? They're talking "instant classic". The guy broke an NCAA three point record and then Drew Nicholas' shot(0.3 secs left) was unbelievable!

That was a great game as well. Both team hit some huge shots at the end of the game. It would have been nice to see the upset there but Maryland made the shot when they needed to. If Skinner or Stepp would have hit their shots at the end of the Gonzaga game we would be watching that game on ESPN Classic for years to come.

3 out of 4 of my Final Four is dead.

I am glad Kansas won against Duke. A couple friends of mine are Duke fans so this gives me something to bust on them about.
