Aliased text in IE 5.5

Why has it returned to jaggy?

My 'user profile' at work has recently been rebuilt due to a problem with a corrupt folder.

So it all runs perfectly fine now? and i'm very happy to have all my personal settings restored to default(:() - spent hours replacing favourites and cache-ing DW sites.

But all that done I still have one niggle that probably seems really pedantic - I cannot seem to get smooth anti-aliased text back in IE. There is something more satifying seeing larger text aliased. I can't stand jaggy text (unless I'm playing track and field) Anybody know where or how I can change this back, please.

We have IE5 on a NT network at work and I cant seem to find anything of any use, do you use 5 or 6?

To get smooth text in win98 right click on the desktop and go to properties. Choose the 'effects' tab and tick 'smooth edges of screen fonts'. If you are using a different flavour of Windows give me a shout and I will see if I can remember where you change this on XP etc.

I'm actually having a problem with this also - my PC keeps unticking the box whenever I reboot, but I think this is related to my graphics card in some way
