I am currently working at home on my MA thesis on an *incredibly* old Mac (it's an advanced typewriter...). Needless to say, I can't go online on this thing. However, I quite often need to check my email, the forum, the library, the world etc.

My husband (Nick_W) has a Big Boys Computer that can do *everything*. It's the only computer online in the house.

It's virtually impossible for me to get any time online - only when he's in the shower in the morning!

Anyone have any ideas of how to get him off the computer for a longer period of time -I am fed up being a New User, it's all his fault...

(Needless to say, I won't be able to check this untill he next has a shower, so see you in 24 hours...)

Tell him he stinks, and encourage him to take more showers. Of course now that he saw this that probably won't work.

In that case tell him he doesn't get 'any' until he gets you online. Within a week he will have you hooked up to a T1 line on a brand new Mac. :)

Does Nick have a credit card? Buy yourself a new eMac, and then brag about what an incredible bargain it is for the computing power it provides. ;)

What to do about splitting the internet connection, I don't know. Perhaps, as long as you have his card, you could have a second phone line installed...
