Does anyone have any program tips to give?

We are having a conference at Yahoo Messenger, but it doesn't work very well, so anyone who have anyt tips feel free to share :)

I'm a diehard Trillian user...it covers all the bases without the ads.

My favorite feature is the SecureIM. This allows two Trillian users to communicate thru a 128-bit encrypted tunnel. This works through your ICQ or AIM accounts. I haven't seen this feature on any of the other free alternatives.</added>

ICQ works great 1-on-1, but I've never tried it for anything more than that. What kind of features are you looking for? There are lots of java chat programs available...
