I did it because reading William Blake was like drinking spring water.
My life changed dramatically one month after I tattooed that on my arm, and it served as a reminder that not everything is Black or White, Good or Bad.
I'm willing to do another one, but I don't have a compelling image/philosophy/statement that I want to make that I don't already make in another fashion.

I have a lot of friends with really neat body art ... it's fun to look at, as long as it's on someone else.

I've got a small spiral on my left shin which I did myself when I was about 17, with a badge pin and a bottle of Parker ink - primary reason being boredom. Its a bit of a mess but every time I think about getting it covered with a professional one I change my mind just before I do it - its kind of a reminder of that time of my life.
My better half has an abstract art nouveau design on her lower spine which I designed for her, made the tattooist swear he wouldn't do it on anyone else. I must admit it makes her even more gorgeous in my eyes

It's the same as having the nipples or genitals pierced, it's not intended for everyone to see. Just a certain few. My wife got the rose tattoo on her rear end, knowing that I'd be the only one to see it.
absolutely serves NO purpose these days, and resorts to me usually wearing long sleeve shirts.
hard enough to get people in my industry to treat you as a nice young chap, without looking like a criminal purely based on a Tattoo.
however I think they look real cute on females, something nice and discreet.

(btw, saw a guy the other week, and his whole face had been tattoed like a spiders web, He obviously knows something about the internet that we dont)
(and no I don't wear a tshirt and shorts in business situations but you get my point) ;)
