After six straight months of writing, coding, checking email, running analysis, etc, I was told that no was unacceptable as an answer and that I must go to a huge and famous saloon in Nashville for a night of drinking and carousing.

So I'm off to the saloon and my only question is...

Do any of the rest of you take days off?

All the time. There are much more important things than work. I hardly ever work on the weekends. I might check sales or emails but that is it. I also take a few days off here and there to go golfing, skiing, etc. I am a much more efficient worker when I have had time to rest and relax. I am not one of those guys who can sit in front of a computer for 20 hours a day, 7 days a week.

yeah ... I enjoying camping and well, days off are a necessity for doing that. It seems they don't much cotton to me building firerings inside the office so it's to the woods for me fairly regularly.

Well, the day off was fun, the next afternoon however has been a diet of Saltines and 7UP. I can't even look at a cigar today and I'm currently looking for the person that painted my tongue with lint.

6 months from now I may forget the horrible feeling of being hungover and repeat my stupidity. :)

As for the days off...I may take weekends off each week and drink myself into a stupor. I will still check my email, check my stats, check here and things like that. I would be scared to take more than 2 days off from a computer...

I am supposed to get vacation time soon and fear going, just for the giant stack of work that will be sitting in my inbox and on my desk.

Or even, say, slightly less than 2 months from now.
