HELP

I can't get my new Zip drive to work on my laptop. I've installed the software and the drive appears in Windows Explorer but when I click on the drive (with a disk created at work) in the drive I hear the drive try to access the disk, then I get the error message "Please Insert A Disk Into Drive E:".

I've downloaded the latest driver from the Iomega web site.

The disk isn't protected.

Now all I can do is scratch my head....

you've got another disk? sometimes the zip disks hmm - well - broke.

there is also a repair toolkit available if i remember correctly.

Try a new/blank disk, maybe the one created at work is corrupted.

Thanks guys.

I do have another, new disk, but the same thing happens. Is it the same to format as zip disk as a floppy disk? i.e. >format e:?

to format it, juse the zip tools. if you open the 'my computer' on win, use right mouse button on the zip-drive and there it should be placed. let me take a look ... yes, there is an entry called 'format' with the iomega icon. that should help. if the entry is greyed out then ... try another disk.

hmm.

not really, then the drive does not realize at all that a disc is in. be kindly to it, hug it a bit and talk to it. that should help. these electronic devices are very sensitive. good luck.
