Children's website - what to use?

So my daughter was in tears today: Why can't I do what you do? I want a website too!
She's a kid of nine, totally non tech minded and very impatient.
What can I give her so that she can type stuff and add some pics and bring it on a site?
Should she go blogging?

Netscape Composer, there's nothing easier.

But there are a lot of online free hosting type services that have interactive online template systems where you point and click a few times, and have your own site all of a sudden. Doesn't sound like she needs to worry about SE ranking or validation just yet. ;)

Yes, that's where it's headed, I guess.

- a simple textarea where to type stuff in
- a button to say: publish
- some simple buttons / drag & drop for adding pics and background colors

Should be offline though. Any tools out there?
Will look into Composer, never used it.

The good thing about blogging software would be the one page style.
