how my mouse fooled me.

My mouse stopped working a while ago.

Annoyed. I spent a half a hour checking cables, checking drives, and rebooting machines, (I have 2 computers what use 1 mouse with an A/B switch) and checking components. The people in my office comments I was ‘making noise’ due to my grunts of frustrations.

Then I noticed a little paper dot left over from a 3 hole punch was sitting in the little crevice the laser shoots out of in my optical mouse.

I took a week off work once and returned to find my computer in a box awaiting collection and replacement.

Someone had tried to use the machine inmy absence, found the mouse working badly, and got the support dept to replace it.

The new one had played up too. Support diaognosed a motherboard fault and order a replacement machine.

The problem?

I have my mouse set left-handed so the buttons are reversed.
