Farewell to the Floppy

Dell Computer Corp., one of the world's largest computer makers, said Wednesday it will stop putting the drives in its desktop computers next month and offer them only as an option.

Well, I won't miss floppies, but:

I hope Norton Anti-Virus can create Recovery Disks without a floppy - And can Windoze create an Emergency Boot Disk on some other media?

Save the floppy, iv still got a version of C on 5 an a quarter. And i have a 3.5incher and proud of it.. no pun intended. :) Saves my life every day.

Until there is a unbiquitous portable, rewritable, bootable media supported by all motherboards, I'm keeping my floppy drive. Its saved my butt many times. But looks like I'll have to build a "sun's super rescue disc" on CD now for new the Dell setups!
