About a year back I started a newsletter as a supplement to my sites. Figuring that it would reach pretty targeted viewers, and as there was a bit of spare white space on the pages, I signed up for a couple of on-topic affiliate schemes and popped their ads onto the page.

It was just an experiment really, I'm not into affiliates and I had no idea what the demand for the newsletter would be or the response to the sdverts. To be honest, I forgot about the whole thing.

Yesterday I got an email from Amazon advising, amongst lots of other stuff, that I have amassed a credit of:

$1.98 ... (hey, don't laugh, that's US dollars!)

So $1.98 per annum return.... can anyone beat that?

I got into the whole affiliate marketing during the paybar/paid to read email boom. One program I joined was a "get paid to read email" that pays when your account reaches $50 I got my 5th email in 4 years a couple of weeks ago bringing my account balance to $2.50. Only another 76 years till my check :)

Bah, blow it on wine and women, rainy days are overrated, unless of course there are wine and women involved...
