The Raiders are the favorite, but the Titans aren't going down easy!

Just got back from the party. Even though I live in Nashville now, I've been a lifelong Raiders fan. They have always played tough ball. Still seems to work. Raiders Win. :)

Bucs played a great game. Sorry to say, the Eagles didn't respond to TB's improvements on offense soon enough.

But, from the PR point of view, somehow I still think the Eagles' season had a better "storyline", with the quarterback injuries and all. Somehow, all those Tampa Bay's bucks and draft picks for a coach doesn't match that for 'human interest'.

Though I'm generally an NFC fan, and never much for the Raiders, it might be kinda nice to see Gruden's old team beat him in the big one, after he jumped ship. . . and that's how I would bet if I had to.

Another interesting note (not sour grapes, but intriguing. . .or frustrating!):

  • last year the Eagles were beat in St.Louis, with a little help from cranked up music over the loudspeakers. After the season, rules are changed, disallowing piping in artificial sound when the playclock is running.
  • this year Tampa Bay turns things around offensively by shelling out big bucks and a load of draft picks to get the coach they want... specifically to beat their Philadelphia nemesis... it works. End of season: rules are changed, disallowing using draft picks that way.

(Yes, Raiders fan, I know you are still looking for a change in the "tuck rule" change after it ended their season last year... I'd wager at some point it'll come. But that's all the odd way the football bounces... Come to think of it, I recall some interesting Raiders' practices producing a rule change or two!)
