Santa might find what this goes into somewhat useful - one little black box [7thpixel.com].

Tell us what it is and give us the URL.

It's called a Toxi-Scan. Electronically determines whether milk and cookies have been adulterated. Much faster than the old analog testing kit Santa used to use. The manufacturer operates "in the dark" and does not want its name divulged.

So much for Santa's drug sniffing reindeer. And you thought Rudolph's nose was naturally red.

Sorry Lawman - nope.

Any hints? Is it used as part of a navigation system? Is that a standard parallel port and a coaxial cable connector on the back?

Mivox! You're awake - and fast out of the gate!

It is part of a navigational system. Which one - I won't tell you. I can't tell you about the connectors.

Oilman - it is not a signal booster.

ESA chose the rubidium and hydrogen maser clocks because they are very stable over a few hours and their technology can fly onboard the Galileo satellites.

Sorry startup - this one passed really quickly.

I just don't think Santa would find this gizmo as useful as say, a big ol' glass of eggnog and a detailed copy of my 2002 Christmas list.

Now this is all sooo unfair. I stayed up just to win this thing and now it was all in vain. Im sooo sad. ;) Somebody needs to shut down Google while the Gizmo Quiz lasts. And I thought I was really really close and then its such a profane thing as a clock. What would Santa need a clock for. He has been delivering presents forever, he can tell the time without a clock. Lorax, never ever will I answer any of your posts. My tears just flooded my keyboard... A clock, this is really sad... This was probably just an American plot to out the poor Europeans. And to be really mean you selected a European clock, just to rub it into our faces. Your are sooo mean. Im really disappointed in you. Its x-mas season when people ought to forget about time and enjoy the holidays and you choose a clock as a gismo! This is all so very sad. But I guess I said that already ;)

BTW what about [php.net...] There is a time function in PHP as well. A clock is nothing else. Im appealing to lawman to declare me the winner of this gizmo quiz. Lawman please help, everybody is treating me unfair, you are my last hope ;)

According to 17 a II 3 GVG you cannot claim that this is not within your jurisdiction. German law is clearly applicable in this case ;).

Can I send you a Snickers bar or something to make it up to you?

A Snickers would be great. I love getting free Snickers. Even better: Win the next Gizmo Quiz and then on the one after that you declare me the winner no matter what ;)

I checked the name of the clock (Rubidium not Radium) just after trying to engage the services of "lawman".
You deserve the win korkus2000.
andreasfriedrich,
Seeing this is hosted in the US, maybe a democratic vote is in order. All votes are to be counted by the state of Florida. :).

Damn...... I went for a nap at about 1:30 mytime and what happens, The quiz starts, Mivox wakes up and it's all over.
I'm desperately trying to timeshift back to half normal times (like getting up before the bank shuts) 'cos gizmo runs into the night it seems impossible.
Come on Europe we're gonna have to get it back here and keep it, so we can hold the quiz at 10:00 am GMT
<sniggers>that'll get the americans outta bed early</sniggers>
