network problems?

my domain is not accessible becasue apaprently att has some router down. is anyone with his domain unaccesible(including email).my web host says their servers and up and running.they say the problem is OUTSIDE their network.

also i tried to go to att home page att.com and url changes to [192.20.5.56...] i have tried to search some info but at no avail.

i though that since it is like "web" that when one path goes down ,signal can always find another path. but this is not the case.

anyone seeing problems? i cant get my email whole day now.(all other domains on different web hsot are working and majority of web is working).

is web hosting company lying to me?

Did you try to ping your site, or do a traceroute? These tools are available as "Ping" and "Tracert" on many computers, including Windows (run them in a DOS window if necessary).

Tracert can show you where the break is.

For major network outages, try this traffic report [internettrafficreport.com] tool.

"The Web" refers to the hyperlinks on web pages creating a web, not the physical wiring of the internet.
