I own a website that is doing rather well both traffic and income-wise. As it has grown in size it's become clunky and is less manageable.

I'm not a very sophiticated web designer by any stretch so I hired a very skilled person to set-up a content management system. I hoped the redesigned site, which is at another domain as we work on it, would be ready to go live by June 1, 2006, but it hasn't work outed that way. That's fine but now I'm trying to figure out when will be the best time to lauch.

The new goal is Aug. 1. 2006. However, income wise, I've just entered the best time period (now through the 2nd week in January with Novemember and December my best months).

The redesigned site is much easier to navigate than my old site. There are many other things about it that are far better than my original design. What has changed and untested is the placement of the Google, Yahoo and Chitika ads, my main sources of income. One more thing, I'll only be able to get about 75% of my pages up by the Aug 1 date.

Question:

If you were me, would you aim to have the site go live next month or wait until after the best income-producing time of year when it's slower:

Lauch August 06 or January 07?

This is a big decision for me. Thank you in advance any insights.

Hi,
To me, you should launch it in August and by January '07 you will be comfortable enough to rank well on SEs.

Thanks, iipmrulz. We're going to go with the Aug. 1 launch.
