My ATM now gives you the card right back It makes it easier. Push the card in, the card comes right back out. Enter the PIN and complete your transaction.
It makes it less confusing - although most times people forget to take their cards, not the money.
Silver Lining - I can think of three:
1 - You've got a good story to tell.
2 - At least it wasn't 200...
3 - You only do things like that once in life.
You have no idea how often I do this sort of thing. I must be a complete dimwit! Sorry to hear I am not alone :(
However, I went to a party at Newnham College that night and lost my jacket, which had the gear in.
Took me 3 days to find the coat, which was where Id left it on the floor in one of the kitchens. Thankfully the contents were still in the pocket.
If it's not with the police, i.e. someone took the money, it's theft so if your account is debited contact the police. The bank will have CCTV images. If the person is known to the police or the bank staff then it will be a simple process. Not only that but you will teach someone a lesson in the value of honesty!
