My summer vacation

In less than two weeks I'm outta here! There's a Rainbow Gathering in Colorado this year, and I'll be there. I still don't have a ride, or money, or much of anything else besides a strong desire to get away from everything around here, and then to be able to listen to the constant sound of drums (except for a few hours of the 4th of July), and to participate in the revelry of life. Vegetarian food (at last!), unamplified music, bare-footed and filthy dirty for a week. You just can't beat it.

Oh, and after the Gathering, I think I might take up a job offer I got yesterday. Lookout Reno, here I (might) come.

You should come over to the UK one year for the Big Green Gathering (google for the site)and also some of the smaller local festivals. There is a lot of drumming and a lot of what I guess would interest you. I have been in the past and it really is a great event.

At my age, those kids think I must really be onto something. (Not on something..onto)
At my age, I'm far from the oldest person out there having a good time, and many of those really old-timers have been doing this for over 30 years. In that respect I'm a relative newcomer, only gathering since 2000.

I saw the Hendrix movie Rainbow Bridge. But I think that was in Hawaii, not Colorado.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who will own up to having seen Rainbow Bridge. I even had the soundtrack. :)

What a great vacation! Just back from the Routt National Forest in northern Colorado. Seven days of dusty trails, late night entertainment (drumming, and acoustical instruments including flutes of all types, guitars, a cello, violins and violas and much much more) and more free food in the woods than one could possibly consume. The popcorn place (Popcorners) was a favorite, as were the Krishna kitchens (3 of them). Oh, and the Redhead Parade went off without a hitch this year!

Now all I need is a few more days to rest and relax ;) It's good to be back. And lest you may think it was all fun and games.. no, I generated a couple of new customers for my widget factory, and maybe another website to manage.
