Mavs in 6.

Best money - Nowitzki as mvp.
Dark horse mvp: Marquis Daniels

Best entertainment? Seeing if Cuban gets another huge fine for a blog entry.

Apparently, you are forgetting about D Wade, Shaq and my boy, the real dark horse MVP, Antoine "Wiggle" Walker.

I was hoping he or Paul Pierce would get a ring someday and it's about to happen.

Riley's been here before, although I must give Avery a ton of credit.

I hope the Mavs win, I've been a fan since the Jim Jackson/Jamal Mashburn/Jason Kidd days (I'd like to say since the Mark Aguirre and Rolando Blackman days, but I'm not THAT old).

It all relies on Dirk though. If he doesn't choke under the pressure, it'll be Mavs in 7. Otherwise, it's Heat in 5.

Shaq's looking for a reason to retire. He's going to be busting people left and right in order to get this ring.

No one forgot, this is just a thread about the NBA. Start your own World Cup thread and quit jacking ours. :)

D Wade is sick as a dog right now.

Anyone remember Jordan in 97, ravaged by the flu in game 5 against the Jazz, pours on 38 and the game winning 3 pointer? Expect something similar from Flash tonight. After this series, Dirks going to wish he played soccer.

good game, the Heat in 6. =)

My favorite healine so far was "Mavericks show they can take a punch" - Jerry Stackhouse almost getting knocked out.

Shaq missing 8 FTs, ok that happens to us, but D-Wade missing the FTs also... that will get fixed by Game 2.

The difference here is that Cuban has applied "network topology" concepts to his bench, effectively creating a "distributed well balanced talent pool deep into the 'file' structure" ... vs. the bloody vertical "star power" of Miami with all the weight and responsibility falling on a few..."tired mainframes" ..definitely an outdated model...though the talent on the vertical side is significant..the distributed "open source" model will perform in a more balanced fashion on offence and defense...and will prevail...

Cuban and Mavs by 5 with Miami slipping one more tight win in at home (Mavs should win on their home court...would be just the right moment for them)...

Congrats to the Heat!

I am a bit sad for the NBA though. The absolute last thing the NBA 2.0 needed was another one-star-wonder team to win a title. Nice article about the future of the NBA...

Am I missing how any of the champions since MJ were more of a one-star-wonder than the Nowitzki lead Mavericks?

06 Wade-Shaq
05 Duncan-Parker/Ginobili
04 Detroit
03 Duncan-Robinson
00-02 Shaq-Bryant
99 Duncan-Robinson

Maybe the 03 Spurs because Robinson was essentially done by then but the trend has been more of a two-star-wonder winning since Jordan retired.

edit:I just read the article and his definition of a one-star-wonder is quite a bit different than mine.

this is incredible, I've don't remember anything like this, not the Marlins 2 World Series, the Cane's championships. nada.

the streets are packed, the beach, grove, downtown, everywhere.

looks like a lot of folks won't be working tomorrow.
and the people are all behaving. that makes it even more incredible.

the newscasters were first saying this will last a while, then settle down like the past, but the more time that passes the more people. lol

just awesome.

Could someone save me the trouble of going to Google but what are you all talking about. At first I thought it might be golf even though I have not heard of Mavs or Heat before.

But I do not think it is that.
