Thanks to everyone for their input on my wall. For those part-time fooites, my garage door broke one less than stellar day. The solution to that problem was to build a wall with walk thru doors, rather than replace a big heavy overhead door.

Much of the material came from Habitat for Humanity. Lucky for me I'm in between two cities, each with thier own Habitat store. I also managed to get a nice variety of paint for next to nothing.

From the day the frame went up my employees asked if they could paint that wall, and I agreed. This weekend is open paint weekend. Anyone is welcome to paint whatever they want on that wall. Come monday morning I'm moving our shelves into place so we might be able to work a little more efficiently.

Anyway, I thought some of you might enjoy the artwork [geocities.com] that has gone into my new wall.

"Kokopelli is a figure commonly found in petroglyphs and pottery throughout the southwest. Since the first petroglyhs were carved around 3,000 years ago, he predates even Oraibi, the oldest continuous settlement in North America. He is regarded as the universal symbol of fertility for all life, be it crops, hopes, dreams, or love."

An image search turns up some interesting results. To be honest I thought kokopelli was associated with African art and culture. Shows what I know....

I carry a kokopelli key chain and I have one in my office. I got them when on a trip to Santa Fe.

I got them before I had any kids - they work.

Kokopelli is what the howling coyote used to be. That symbol, figure or whatever that is the current commercial southwestern craze.
