But I am under the impression most of the visitors are leaving because they are see Adsense or Y Publisher in it.
What are your thoughts about this?

To me, it is basically a signal that the company is not successfully focused on marketing their own products. It raises a doubt in my mind as to whether the company's products and services are reliable and worthy of trust.

You EXPECT people to believe your site vis-a-vis a site which is offering alternatives and comparisons...well, let me teach you a lesson...Joe Public couldn't give a stuff what your thoughts about Adsense are and they couldn't give a stuff what your thoughts about ebay are...
Joe Public, PLUS many corporate buyers are only interested in ONE THING...price, or should I say, their perceived purchased value...and if you don't want to believe that then it is definitely time for you to get a serious dose of reality and comprehend what is actually happening in the real world rather than your cosy, hand-in-hand, we're upmarket Adsense marketeers, and no one can join our club unless they adhere to our pre-determined standards!
There's plenty of room for everyone, you may not agree with them, but they sure as hell ain't going to go away whilst they're being successful!

I think he was speaking from the point of view of a web surfer looking to buy something not as a competing website owner. You may have your view of e-commerce websites with ads when you surf. But I think that is why he qualified his statement with 'to me'.

And precisely why many Adsense publishers ought to learn to take their preferences out of the equation.
Serve what the visitor MAY require as an extra as well as the authoratative information one should already have.
Adsense, per se, is about earning money from being an informative site source. There is no disgrace for a commerce site offering information about competitors wares etc., in fact, it is much more likely to obtain one higher rankings in the SERPS than being a "closeted" site offering little or few alternatives.
