All of my web pages are 4.01 Transitional HTML. However, Adsense Search codes causes my pages to fail validation due to </image> and </input> tags. May I remove these tags from the search code so that my page will pass validation?

I've submitted this question to Google but thought I'd post here.

No, in a nutshell.

Google TOS:-

Any AdSense ad code or search box code must be pasted directly into Web pages without modification. AdSense participants are not allowed to alter any portion of the ad code or change the layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason.

No manipulation of the ADsense code. You will get banned soon

See: [google.com...]

The errors are not critical, so I wouldn't worry too much. However I do know that some AdSense users have received permission from Google to alter the code strictly for the purpose of validation. I would wait for confirmation from the AdSense support team.

Thanks for the quick replies!

How about this: I note that I can't place ads on 'service pages', but can I place an adsense search on my site map?...that seems a logical place for one.
