Iframe coding question

I have just started a new site.

The main pages call an Iframe which contains the adsense code.

Do I need to add the frames code (as on the adsense advert setup page) to ensure that the adverts change according to the main page subject or does the use of Iframes not require this?

TIA

I looked into using I-frames at one point. Yes its my understanding that you should select the frames option when getting the code. But I'm not sure about the way you are doing it. You are going to have the ads show up in the frame vs the content, Not sure how that will work or if thats a good idea.

After reading some forums for a bit, I decided to eliminate the frames completly, just to avoid issues.

Good luck

The main pages call an Iframe which contains the adsense code.

Why?

TOS says, the AdSense code has to be on the page with the content.

Do You want to play strange tricks, with an iframe containing some keywords and the AdSense code?

No, not at all. I am restricted by the package I have just got to base the site on. Why does everyone think that someone is up to something.

Well I have found out that you do not need any additional code. The adverts change fine without any frame code.

I used iframe approach for some time with adsense code having google_page_url = window.top.document.location.href; but when I contacted google about it they said that currently they ask that publishers not target other pages using
google_page_url. They only permit publishers to use this code as google_page_url = document.location; This code can only be used with normal frames, not IFRAMEs.

So watch out, you could be on thin ice here.

If iframe page had google_page_url = document.location then the page started serving just PSAs.

No it had no frame code in it at all. Just the bog standard adsense code.

All the adverts have adapted well through the site.
