Filtering unwanted ads .

... how long does it take until the "competitive ad filter" works?

I am trying to filter some annoying off-target ads for cr*ap sites like made-for-adsense directories.
Having edited the "Competitive Ad Filters" list about 3 hours ago, nothing happens. Apparently it does not work for me.

Does the "Competitive Ad Filter" work at all?
How many hours do I have to wait? days? months?
Do they use computers over there at Adsense, or do they process the filters manually on Monday?

Regards,
R.

So if it doesn't work "fast enough" for you, it doesn't work? What a weird conclusion.

Trust me, it does work, sometimes it takes hours, sometimes you have to wait until the next day. Also make sure that you used the correct URL.

Thanks, Wings, for the confirmation that it may take hours or until the next day for a correctly spelled URL, which I did not know. I trust you.

I also recommend checking out the 'Jackie asks' section of this AdSense page:

[adsense.blogspot.com...]

This could be the result of a filter delay, as mentioned. However, if the problem persists more than a day or two, make sure that your filters are set up for optimal results.

Hope that helps!
