Hi, just a quick question about Ad filtering which someone can hopefully answer for me. Should be quite a simple matter (I think), but having never used or read about ad filters I'm not sure what the answer is myself.

I have a site which displays adsense ads. My site sells triangular widgets and well, to be honest, there is not much of a market for triangular widgets and consequently the money derived from each click is low. However, I notice that round widgets and just widgets in general command a much higher cost per click.

So, my question is, should I filter out all ads which are in anyway related to triangular widgets? If I do this will Google start serving up the more lucrative general widget ads or will I just get some public service ads. Also, is it possible to get adsense to start serving the round widget ads despite the lack of reference to round widgets on my site.

I mean people who come to my site about triangular widgets may well be interested in round widgets or any other widgets for that matter. In terms of keywords in my site the term "widget" appears everytime the term "triangular" appears. But, as I have said triangular widgets don't sell so well, whereas widgets in general do a roaring trade.

Any advice would be most welcome.

You should only filter out what is annoying for Your visitors.

I filter all resellers. I mean sites with no own offer, but only paid ads to go to other sites.

I filter MLM multi level marketing and pyramid scams.

Thanks for the response.
I don't think any of the ads which are displayed are annoying (well, no more annoying that ads are in general). They seem to all be for other outlets which sell the same things I do. Problem is those widgets don't sell very well. Also, the ads for these things don't generate much per click.

That is why I was wondering whether to filter out all such ads. This would seem to be in keeping with Google policy anyway as they do offer a competitive ad filter and, well... these ads are all from my competitors.

I guess I should probably just switch is selling something which appeals to a broader market.

If your site is about triangular widgets and you fill your ad filter with triangular widget sites then your visitors might not click on your ads at all whatever they are, I think your should work on getting your traffic to increase.
