Who is making a living?

Last year I was averaging 400 per day, now not so much

I read all the posts and assume we all think that we are after the same goal but i just saw a guy tickled pink about $2 per day after only 4 months! I think i hit that on my third day. So here is my question:

Roughly what is your goal on adsense in dollar wise, and are you near that now?

I will start, my goal is to get back to $400 a day again where i was before shake out earlier this year, and am currently only around 15% of that

I would like to make a living off adsense but as you well know its a roller coaster. Therefore I like the stability that comes with a 9-5 job with adsense on the side. I would say my goal is to pay my montly car payment to get to my 9-5 job ;)

My goal would be to match my salary (and I'm 50% of that after two years - And I have a good salary). Once I match it, I will be happy and comfortable in life.

I don't want to make so much that I give up my 9-5, because it can so easily be taken away at the click of a button.

So in answer to your question, $3600 a month would be dandy.

My goal is simply to enjoy steady growth in AdSense revenues, preferably at a rate higher than my growth in traffic.

However, I wouldn't want to rely on AdSense as my only source of income, or even as my main source of income--not because I don't trust Google or the AdSense marketplace, but simply because it's too risky to have all of one's eggs in one proverbial basket.

My accomplished target for 2005: completely change from a internet promotion company to a publishing company.

It's now a complete other business strategy

For example, when I approach somebody on a fair as an internet promotion company:

"Oh, we have a very good web site, we have really no demand for improvement..." (framed site, no title tags, 0 visitors from Google a month)

Now I introduce my self as a journalist. Complete different reaction:

"We have some exiting new products, let me show..."

So I am no more a internet promotion company searching for clients, I am now a journalist with press card searching for interesting news.

Yeah, right, but you already had a website online for about how many years? That guy with the $2 had started his website (website(!) not AdSense, in May).
I always wonder why some people can't see the difference between putting AdSense for the first time on a brand new site and putting AdSense for the first time on an already established site.

Every company is happy, when a journalist wants to write about their new products.

I know from myself, as I wrote 1986 some utilities for ATARI-ST. I jumped on the CeBit fair in Hanover on everybody looking like a journalist.

They sent even test examples. My record until now was a 420.-EUR widget for me, for writing about 15 pages photo story about it.

Maybe I receive next month a 1500.-EUR widget to write a test about it. I wrote them "I heared that You will bring a new model 2006 on the market...". Next day, the product developer made a half hour telephone call to me.

Hello Jimilives,

What is interesting for me is what caused you going from 400 a day to only 15 percent of, which is like 60 dollars a day?

Did you stop working? Did you stop posting content?

It's important to know the threats that can dramatically dicrease the revenues.

My goal is to make a growing business.

Thank you.

My current goal is to reach $1,000/day (AdSense + others) before Summer 2006. If my revenue growth continues like this year then it shouldn't be a big problem.

My goal is to get back to my pre-Sept 22 levels where I was earning anywhere from $500-$800 per day (or $1000+ on really good days), but now down to only $150 a day. It hurts, it sucks bigtime but for some reason my site was hit by whatever shuffled at Google beginning Sept 22.

I am happy though that the Google optimization rep I was working with was kind enough to refer my case to the search team. The search team emailed me that my site is not banned or penalized but my loss in rankings was a result of automated changes when new sites are added to the serps or updates incorporated.

Didn't give me the answer I was hoping for, but my goal right now is to strive to go back to where I was before whatever hit me did hit me.

I can easily live off the AdSense (and do) from my primary site alone but I have other income for the site as well so if AdSense goes poof I'm still living off the web site.

i just saw a guy tickled pink about $2 per day

My wife's new site hasn't broken $5/day more than a couple of times and she grumbled about that daily until it went $0 for 3 days last week and she REALLY grumbled. Let's just say she stopped complaining when her trickle of money came back.

Maybe I'll get off my but and help her with the SEO and get it up in the rankings but I was so hoping she'd make it on her own.

I am curious as to why so many people seem to act like adsense / web publishing has a very low minimum threshold for maxium productivity..

ie I only do it on the side because it is not worth doing full time? Do you all believe that there is no extra income to be garnered from webpublishing if you devoted more than a couple of extra hours a day to it? It is not a criticism, I just want understand the perspective. Do you perceive no extra financial return for increased time investment?

im new to adsense (2 months) and im curently earning around $1800 - $2000 per month from adsense.

My site is however an established site of 5 years so no shock as to why its doing ok.

I have to admit I had no idea that I could earn good money from adsense and wish I had known it a couple of years ago.

my goal a year from now it to be earning £1000 (UK Pounds) per week from adsence with my current site and my new site(s) im curently earning around £265 (UK Pounds) per week and I do believe I can get to the £1000 per week mark a year from now.

I hope to get to $1000/day (maybe pounds). I'd probably be there if I hadn't lost all G traffic on Feb 2 :(

I finally diversified - AMZ brings in $50 a quarter (whoopie). So far it looks as though Y may put me over the top...until that falls apart too.

I'll diversify further as recommended by EFV after meeting my goal.. stocks, bonds, vacation homes and the first triple wide in the park.

Time for another prozac.

Well, I'd be making a living if we ate grubs and lived in the forest.....obviously we don't.
Recently started playing around with Chitiks eMiniMalls in place of poor Adsense results, and thought it would initially surprise me.
Ummmm....I have over 1,000 impressions so far and 0 clicks.
What the...?
I'm surprised alright.
Something definately not kosher there.
Of course, I never click on anything on my site and have never discussed ANY advertising with anyone that visits our sites, but we use forums with many interested in the ads showing.
Also started a brand new page with the Chit ads all over it and promoted it heavily throughout our forums.
0 clicks.
Whatever.

So it's back to the wait-n-see with G.

Think I'll go rustle up a few ants as a snack before dinner.

Current net income from AS roughly offsets my monthly expenditures. Current goal is to increase my income --but not my expenditures-- by, say, $50-$100/day...

My last Adsense goal was to earn enough during the time it takes to drink a pint of beer to cover the cost of that pint.

I suppose I should go for covering the whole round now. My friends drink a little faster than I do, but I suppose I'll get there eventually if I keep focusing on the goal.

I started in May, learned a lot of what-not-to-do's from the great people here, jumped from $3/day to $28/day.

I'd love to see $333/day, and its probably possible, but can't find the time away from my site management business.

I use the lots of mini-sites approach. I can build a site worth $2-3/day in about 12 hours. Reaching a goal looks like just a simple math problem of so many hours=so many sites=so much in revenue. But its not been that easy to find the hours. And its boring, machine-like work.

Besides that, there's that egg-in-one-basket issue.

I'm thinking: give up the mini-sites approach and roll the dice on a big one, more work for a chance at one site worth lots of little ones. Giving it a try, right now.

I view it as a contribution to my retirement and to our vacation funds.

I respect those who can honestly make a living at it, but I don't want the stress that comes with living off of something that can be completly out of your control from day to day.

My day job, as long as I do what I'm paid to do, everything runs great. There is something to be said for a steady job. It's a lot easier to plan around, especially if your married and have kids.

The thought of relying on AdSense to support my family....I would have to have a few hundred thousand sitting in the bank, above and beyond my retirement fund, before I would even think about supporting my family through AS.

Those who can do it and sleep well, I salute you :-)

What is secure?

Wheat employee has a live time guarantee on his job?

My experience with web sites since 1996 is great stability.

So after all my experience, search engine traffic is something stable.

The other part are the ads. They are not stable, I can see here a constant improvement.

So I consider AdSense as the most stable and secure business, I can do just right now.

Then I hope you don't have a day job working for someone else, as I've been in those board rooms figuring out who gets the axe when we're 3 months away from running out of money.

I'll take my chances on the web thanks.

My goal:
To keep providing useful content and keep getting on target ads, which helps me in providing a service to the travel community.
For adsense:
Well I am really happy with what I get and anything else is an added bonus, anything less well no point in crying about it - it was nice whilst it lasted.
Therefore my target is:
To keep on living and be as happy as I can be... ;-)

Thanks everybody for pitching in with your comments, it is good to know I am not alone out there with the same fear/thoughts/hopes as the rest of you.

I hope that no matter what your guys' goals are that you reach them really soon, maybe then we can all get some sleep and not be posting message board comments at 4am like i am now :)

Good luck & best wishes

would a Ligit site earn more?

Shure a legit site earns much more.

Simple because a legit site has much more time to earn the money.

When I write a page, I am shure this page will contribute to my income also in 10 years.
