I have Adsense ads on one site. It was not made for adsense, it's actually a media site (videos, pics) with no nudity of course ;)

Yesterday was one of my best days, with $2.51!

With the great advice here and other forums I managed to go from a few cents, to 1 dollar and now to more than 2 dollars a day.

Any words of encouragement/advice to break the $100 dollar mark and get my first check?

Any words of encouragement

You're doing great - well done and congrats on your first milestone achieved.

advice to break the $100 dollar mark and get my first check?

It comes down to three things:-

(1) traffic (to the AS pages - i.e. impressions)

(2) keyword value (eCPM)

(3) CTR

Increasing any of those three items will, generally speaking, have a positive affect on your earnings.

The best thing to do is to examine them one at a time in respect to your site(s).

Traffic

The holy grail of any webmaster. Ways to increase it? Again, generally speaking, it comes down to two things :-

1. Get more inbound links. That has the effect of increasing direct inter-site referrals, and SE referalls if some of your pages are a little way down in the SE SERPS for their key phrases (you become more authoritative).

2. Build more pages. That also has a knock on effect, with time, of increasing inbound links.

There are tons of great threads here regarding increasing traffic - scanning your logfiles for unusual terms you can build pages around etc. Read until your eyes hurt.

Keyword Value

There's little you can do about this other than learn the space you're in inside out and get to know the rough prices for keywords in that sector. Then ensure that AdSense is accurately targetting the right phrases. If it isn't, adapt your pages, within reason. The site visitor comes #1, always, but you can often tweak content to remain great for the user, but become great for the bots.

If you're displaying mostly images/videos, start putting text descriptions of the clips on the page. You need text.

CTR

The heatmap on the AdSense guide is absolutely correct. Ensure that you're placing ads in the best spots on the page. Rotate them if necessary (including switching colours - Google make that easy for you as you can do it in the AS code).

Overall I would look at CTR first as the easiest thing to do is to start playing with Ad placement and colour rotation.

I read the title, and thought: "$50 a day after 4 months! that's cool!".

Then I read your message and I understood better what you meant: welcome to the world of the hard-labourer adsensers!

keep it going!

Congratulations Emilio! just duplicate what you have done when you broke the $50 mark. Then triplicate it again, don't stop till you reach 4 figures then duplicate it again.

Congrats Emilio.
We are sitting in the same boat. I also started in May and I'm also making about $2 per day now. I know how it feels.
I think after $50 bucks total, google will send out your pin.
Keep the good work,
Sven
