Hi Guys,

I've just started my adSense adventure, just after my adWords count reached majestic $10,000 in making Gooooogle Rich ;) - I really want at least $1 back!

So, please help me understand some things.

1) Is CTR of any relevance like it is in adwords? or is it just for my information?

2)why I cannot see two 'strings of ads' on the same page sometimes? does it need to be the same/different channel? or does it simply mean that google cannot find the relevant content? - shouldn't it then show PSAs?

I want to see two skyscrapers on both sides of my content (<td>AD</td><td>CONTENT</td><td>AD</td>)

I tried copying the same code twice - didn't work
I tries selecting different channels - didn't work
But why it does work on my homepage? (Leader board and two half-banners)

3) Does each click can be EITHER from CPM or CPC? Can I only determine that by comparing earnings?

4) Which clicks are more profitable - search or content?

Thank you from the mountain ;) (direct translation:) )

I know, some of you congrat OddDog (so am I :)) on getting $5,000pm, but I am happy today of my first $0.14 in just a few hours from being accepted to Adsense :) now - it can only get better!

Hello Bob,

I'll give you my 2 cents.

1 - IMO CTR doesn't effect CPC. Others think differently.

2 - You're right, it should show PSAs if it doesn't have ad unless you throw in some extra adsense code to have white space shown instead. I would say there is something wrong with your HTML.

3 - Don't understand your question. Each click effects CPM and CPC.

4 - I've never done search. Wouldn't think it would pay as much since you only get paid if user clicks on ad after doing search, not for doing search.

Search, on my sites are notoriously low. IMHO ads for content pays a lot better.

guitaristinus, - in 3) I meant that as an advertiser I pay differently for CPM (site targeting) and CPC (keywords only), so I wanted to know if there is a way of being paid by impressions only when someone selects my page for publishing their ads? or does adsense pay for impressions anything in default?

oh and thanks for your 2 cents - that makes total grand profit of 16 cents ;) an increase of 14% to my total gains ;)

Thanks Ann!
