Missing AD Units

Hi,
I started with one "Leaderboard" ad on top of the page.
This would generally show 4 ads.
Then the rules changed and we could put up 3 ad units. So I removed the leader board and replaced it with three "Half Banners". Now often 2 of the rectangles show up empty and I end up with empty space and only one ad. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I have this same problem. I beleive it is because there are not enough ads for the content on the page to fill all spaces. Just my guess. Only use one, just play with the layout.

Hi Roadkill,
Thank you for the reply. IMO it's not the inventory. I remember testing and on the leaderboard there are no shortage of ads. I think it has something to do with the AdSense server not being able to serve three ad units in time. Normally you would expect PSAs when there are no ads but not blank space. Also AdSense preview tool shows a lot of ads for the pages in question.

Don't know if this is the same problem, but every time my site has shown to me with blank spaces where adsense should be (not psas) it was my own browser causing the problem, and clearing the browser's page cache made the problem go away.

Adsense feedback gave me this solution.

Oh, I take that back.

I have one type of page that is a news posting. It has a 460x80 within the content and a 120x240 in the left-nav. Sometimes right after posting a new story (hence a new page) I notice the banner displays an ad correctly but the left-nav is blank where the ad should be (not a psa). This always goes away within minutes, however...

Hi wizarddave,

Thank you for the reply. I just cleared my browser's cache, no change. The pages in question are very old but I think our problems are related. I think that mediabot is set to have no long term memory. So essentially the condition happens when the mediabot forgets the contents of the page and a generic site related ad is served.
