We recently launched a new site which has adsense ads. It is just starting to get into msn and yahoo (but not the google index).

Today I noticed that the oct 1 stats showed 4 views/4 clicks That is way out of tolerance with other sites we have. The stat showed a positive dollar amount. however it could have been 1 paying click and three zero dollar clicks. I have no way of knowing.

I looked through the logs and there is a slight possibility it was legitimate. However I'm not sure about that.

I did notice an ip that traces to a bot used by riaa. (let me know if I can name it in this forum) This is a bot designed to look for Riaa violations (recording industry)From what I read it follows links a little blindly. I'm wondering if it is possible that this bot ended up clicking on any adsense ads it found 'interesting'.

No one here clicked on any ads. AS is too valuable for that. All machines other than mine have the host file modified to block the ads so my wife and son don't click. I was outside all day splitting wood (trying to beat the heating prices).

For now, I am going to IP block the riaa bot IP just in case they are causing the clicks.

all of the content is original including the photos (scenery) that I took personally. There is no music, celeb photos etc. that would be of interest to such a bot.

Again, please let me know if I can post the name and/or IP of this bot

Thanks

Must bots are not made to follow java links.
Now, adsense ads are even on a frame out site your site.
I don't think they're going to "click" on them anyway.
