Do They Seem Accurate?

My AdSense Impressions count for Saturday, 11/1, stands out as being way below normal based on the traffic in my server logs. With 4 hours to go today, 11/2, my AdSense Impressions are already higher than they were yesterday, while my server log traffic today is lower than it was at the end of the day yesterday.

I understand the normal discrepancies as indicated in the AdSense FAQs, but it still just doesn't seem right.

Does your AdSense Impression count seem accurate for Saturday, 11/1?

<added>After reading div01's reply, I took a closer look at 10/31 and it, too, seems low, although not as low (in relative terms) as 11/1. This might suggest that the impression count could have become corrupted some time during the day on 10/31.</added>

The last two days have been poor in terms of performance...impressions seem low for me aswell.

In the ~50 minutes since my last post, my earnings for the day almost doubled...so what the heck do I know.

Same deal. Yesterday was super low, and all of a sudden today my CTR has about doubled and income with it...Strange considering Sunday is usually the slowest day for me with the exception of Saturday.

Same thing...looks like Google stats were behind about 5-7 hours worth. It caught up during the night though.

I had my worst weekend in long time with adsense, while impressions remained relatively normal. Perhaps all the advertisers ran out of money near the end of the month... however, I think it has more to do with the new super-deals that Google as announced...like the one with about.com (I hope google makes them get rid of their popups).

There is too much publisher space and not enough advertisers. With the addition of these large sites, this problem has been exacerbated. This is good for advertisers and bad for us.

That really depends on the topic. The less "mass market" a topic is, the less it will be affected by competition for clicks from major general-interest sites.

This is a good argument for editorial diversity within a topic, IMHO. Take cruising: You can expect ads for Carnival Criuses or Holland-America Cruises to turn up on a site like THE WASHINGTON POST or About.com, but those sites are unlikely to have many pages about cruise lines like Sea Cloud (super-luxury sailing vessels) or hotel barges in Ireland and the UK. If you focus on building a wide variety of content to serve your readers instead of optimizing your content for a handful of obvious keywords, you'll be less vulnerable to competition for clicks from big-name, mass-market news and entertainment sites.
