Lets say that some adwords advertiser chooses my site for a CPM bidding campaign and bids for, lets say, 5000 impressions.
Then, that ad is shown at my site and due to poor quality of the ad (or whatever) it doesn't get clicks at the end of the 5000 impressions. Who gets the money?
I know, Google keeps the money, but my question is if would I (or should I) be paid anyway a percentage for showing the ads?
Sorry if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find it anywhere.
Thanks
Enrique
Lets say that somebody bids $10 per thousand pages at my site and bids for 10.000 impressions. That would be $100 (a lot I guess).
But the stats only show clicks and it doesn't show site targeting bids, so the amount paid to me by Google for that capmaign, will be distributed by all the channels the ad was shown.
This way, a channel that had only 1 click may receive $5. That would make me think that I got a $5 click.
I'm saying this, because it happened to me this month to have strange peaks where certain channels received the usual amount of clicks but with a much higher value of cpc.
Sorry if I'm not clear enough. I'm trying to address two situations:
1) How do CPM campaigns affect our adsense stats.
2) With all this strange calculation, can we check subtle changes we make?(like filtering ads).
My stats were great this month but it had five or six uneplainable CPC clicks peaks (the rest remained the same) and that puzzles me.
Thanks
Enrique

There are a few good topics on this if you search for CPM in the Google Adsense help pages. Here's one that addresses number 1):
[google.com...]
I'm not sure about number 2, but I think using channels, it might be possible to monitor changes.
"...However, with CPM ads, you'll see earnings that are not associated with any clicks. Google pays you each time a CPM ad is shown on your page, rather than when a user clicks on the ad and views the advertiser's site. The eCPM column in your reports will display the effective CPM of your combined CPC and CPM activity..."
Ok, that explains why I had so many peaks this month. It seems that I had some Site Targeting campagins aming my site.
This is good for making media kits for small sites that performs well in adsense. I never offered CPM advertising at my site because I didn't have the time to set up a automated system. When an offer comes, I always end up into some agreement so I don't loose the advertiser. With this (and a bit of further research) I can suggest adwords to certain advertisers... I guess I read about this in some Google blog or something.
