But that's a completely useless average, as this average takes together the HUGE sites with a much stronger negotiation power and the little fish ike us.
It would take some experimenting. I make a page about guynellophers, somebody puts an ad about guynellophers and we see how much he pays vs. how much I get.
However, that also includes the larger site (like AOL, which a recent Wall Street Journal story had sources say it was making an 80% cut).
So, it's fair to say that AdSense publishers are making more than Google on the AdWords campaigns running on their sites. My best guess, since it would have to be lower than 67% to offset the higher averages to the Internet's popular sites like AOL.com, is that it's in the 60% range. Then again, that probably varies by publisher. I doubt that individual publishers will ever know. Safe to say that it's a generous piece of the action all the same.
Personally, I don't care how much Google is making. I'm making more than I ever did with an affiliate program and more than I would make from other ad networks (so far as I can tell by reading up on them--doesn't even seem to be worth experimenting with them at this point.). YMMV, of course.
