2 websites with the same content (and with Adsense code) is against TOS. 2 websites with the same subject would be fine I guess...

yes, two same with exactly the same contents is not a good idea for many reasons (adsense, google duplicated contents filter ...)

A few alternatives I see:

- re-edit one copy of the contents, so it's the same contents but different;
- block one copy of the contents from being spidered with robots.txt (and remove adsense from it!)
- double check there are no solutions other than this duplication
