I hate it! Kill it! GAAAH!

Alright. I just read that MS is launching an AdSense killer, and while I doubt that their is going to be better, I'm gonna consider switching if their stuff looks like AdSense but without the stupid "Ads by" text.

Don't you hate it too?

nah, I don't mind it at all.

It doesn't have any negative effect on my webpage that I've been able to tell when comparing stats before they introduced it and after they introduced it.

It doesn't "offend" me design-wise, and although I get regular comments on my website(s) from visitors, not one has mentioned any extra o's.

I don't think it's a big deal at all IMO.

I have no problem with it. Gives a little cachet to the links if they are associated with Google.

I think that you should be able to (pretty easily) get rid of it by... um... I don't know. Perhaps get "accepted" as a stable (but not high-traffic) site.

i don't mind "ads by google" but hate the "ads by gooooooooooooogle" with passion.

KimmoA

Maybe the reason I hate them is due to the fact that I basically never use a "border" color -- I always let them blend into the background.

At least it would be great to "blend" this "Ads by G([o]+)ogle" into the background too, such as #666666 instead of #000000 on a white background. Or #AAAAAA.

Ah yes, the dead horse is beaten harder.

He still won't run.

Bill you got some explainin to do.
The horse was just fine a minute ago!

(Don't get the point about the horse either but hey, it is the middle of the night here)

Thought I explained myself in my first post.

This topic is long in the tooth.

incrediBILL: I don't get that expression. Is it good or bad? I assume bad. Bad in what way?

Also... I came to think of something. It's possible to decrease the height of an AdSense iframe to less than for example 90px (talking about a leatherboard), thus "hiding" the "Ads by" text. I assume that this isn't allowed, but why is it possible ('cause it is!)?

KimmoA, I see why you don't like the "Ads by Google" line.

I just looked at your blog and see you have blended the Google ads into the top of your blog very well indeed. If you could just get that darn "Ads by Google" line out of there maybe you could get every visitor to you blog to click on the ad thinking it was just another blog post! :-)

I'm sure your advertiser wouldn't appreciate that.

WallyWorld: Maybe not the advertisers, but me... ;)

Seriously, that text is really ugly. At least it should be possible to blend it.

(BTW... nobody with half a brain would mistake those for blog entries...)

I don't get that expression. Is it good or bad? I assume bad. Bad in what way?

Well, if you beat a live horse it tends to run faster. If you beat a dead horse, you can just beat and beat and it changes nothing, the horse is still dead, and we've beat and beat this topic and we still have Gooooooogle.

It appears to do something for Google AdSense and Google doesn't seem interested in changing it as we've mentioned it so many times that if they cared about our opinions they would've gotten rid of it they would've done it long ago.

Therefore, I would suspect it's a dead topic in Google's mind and it won't change which is why I equated it to beating a dead horse, which doesn't make the dead horse move.

My AdLinks just say "Google" too.

Perhaps that's how you tell a premium from just run of the mill publisher, if they have Goooooooogle or not.

Only those who are worth more than others deserve correct grammar, then. Fair. (Not.)

If I ever get in the position of Google or MS, I will force my own sick ideas upon everyone.

This is really too trivial to get worked up over.

Kimmo, why don't you focus on some of the positives instead? AdSense is a great system and there are still scads of opportunities for building successful websites and making good money online, if you're smart, creative and hard-working.

KimmoA

jomaxx: Well... if you're always to "look at the bright side", there would be no discussions whatsoever, would there? :)

This simply annoys me, so I had to ask for your opinions and simply talk about it. What better place is there to talk about this? Google doesn't listen to me.
