I joined google adsense in March and have been receiving around $100 per month from the ads on my site. i only get around 1500 to 1700 visitors a week so i don't suppose i can grumble at the return. What i am interested in doing is adding an Amazon.com advertising banner but am a little reluctant because i'm not sure whether Google would approve. What advertising options are others using? I don't want anything flashy. I need it to be unobtrusive as i want people to spend time on my site. I don't want to frighten them off with a mass of advertising matter. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help

John

Amazon accounts are allowed, since they are not content driven.
Try putting one account in the header, and another down one side or the other.

And, don't expect any real money from Amazon. :)

If you want to make money from Amazon, don't use banners. Very low conversion rates, on most sites, and with your low traffic....

I have used Amazon on my site for years and always found that detailed reviews about books my visitors would want/need did the best, and have found since I joined AdSense that those pages also do well with AdSense while not much affecting, if at all, the Amazon income.

However, doing those pages is more work than just putting AdSense code on an article. I make about four times the money from AdSense than I do from Amazon, and it's less work.

yep the best thing to do is right a review on a product than have amazon just below the review or whatever other affilate site you are promoting.
