Time to display ads on new page

For a large site with more than 50k pages, how much time does it generally take for Google to deliver ads. I know that initially only PSAs are displayed till the pages are atleast crawled by mediabot.

I have witnessed the robot coming and indexing the page within an hour, so my guess for your 50K pages, less than a day.

A site new to AdSense generally has targeted ads within a few hours of acceptance into the program.

Pages added to a site that already has AdSense will either have ads that are themed to your site overall or PSAs for up to a few days.

Don't forget that mediabot won't follow links to target your pages. So mediabot will only go and index a page for targeting once someone visits the page and calls the code on the page. Once that is done, it is usually done withint hours. But someone has to visit each page first before targeted ads will be shown.

Mediabot doesn't (at least for me) crawl the site - it only goes to pages which have been specifically accessed by users, and doesn't follow any of links on that page.

So each page will show PSAs (or your alternate ads) the first time it is seen. Some time later (usually under half an hour) that page (not the links on it) will be read by Mediabot and then start showing targetted ads.

After a couple of months with Adsense, my site of 80,000+ pages has still got plenty of pages that are only now being seen for the first time. Not that it really matters, like most sites most of the traffic by volume is on a fairly limited number of pages.

I add about 400 pages a day to my site, and adsense ads display perfectly fine before the bot even comes around.
