With Google's suite of publisher tools, you can focus on creating your content while we help with everything else, from smart analytics to driving traffic to your site.

[services.google.com...]

I always thought it sounded 'politically' incorrect to try and get paid by those who work for you!

Shame on you Google, you've offered Blogger for free, gmail for free, now you want your own publishers to pay money for services? Should provide all services for publishers FREE (okay, except maybe for AdWords, but not web analytics!)

Yeah, I would love that service to be FREE, I think it should be free for small publishers with a limited amount of hits, the data collected with that service can be used to fine-tune the Google search results.

Just because you get a check from Google does not mean you work for them ... and even if you have all of your revenue coming from AdSense you should have the mentality that you are working for yourself.

I would rather pay for software and services. The majority of the time they are far superior than the free stuff.

Shafaki-

Google is not a charity company. It is itself still doing a charity by giving their excellant search service for free....which requires a lot, lot, lot, lot of investment and tallent.

They also need some stream of revenue to pay all those... and I do not see any problem if they ask some little money for any service that really help. When you can buy service and software from little to almost non-existant company, then why bother buying some service from G?

I see no charity in that. When they give ANYTHING for free, they do it ONLY to gain more money in an indirect way (Blogger and Picasa are just two good examples).

We drive traffic to your site for free and then pay you for click throughs. Absolutely Free. What a concept.

Oh, btw, for the amzing low price of Absolutely Nothing, you can have over 80 realtime traffic reports for Absolutely Free.

Hurry now while supplies last.....or we go out of business

Yes, shame on Google for trying to break people out of the Webmaster Welfare mentality.

<paraphrasing recent rants>

"We provide all the content Google, without publishers you are nothing!"

</paraphrasing recent rants>

I counter that without Google nobody would every find a thing.
