would anyone like to share that how to get traffic.
I get most of the targeted traffic with the Adwords and I am satisfied with its results.
This post will help the publishers to increase the traffic and adsense earning so everyone in the forum is requested to give the suggestions for getting the traffic.
Thanks
Kashif

- how do i con google without getting caught?
seems to me that more and more people are joining this forum with the sole intent of picking everyone´s brains to try and increase their google money....this is not what i would say a forum community should be about...try contributing a little before you bounce in with your cap in your hand ( and no, that remark is not directed solely at the poster here)

There is no straightforward way. They were, but after hundreds of webmasters did these things, the money flow drained.
What you have to do in order to get traffic is
1) create a quality content - make the site interesting to the visitors
2) increase the level of authority of your site or prove to SEs that this content deserves being shown to others - make others link to you.
But that is in the past tense!
Its the visitors we want...not keep them happy when they arrive LOL
The problem is getting the visitors in the first place. The irony is the crappier the site the better chance they will click on an ad just to relieve the pain!
I am forever telling people that they should never click on ads on made for advertising sites, as it just encourages them.
I wonder how many people on these forums can genuinely say they feel their sites are making a contribution to anything other than their own pockets?
well I am of the camp that hopes that google will realise that whilst they make money off all the crap made for adsense sites, people will eventually move to other search engines for better search results, and hence google would be better off in the long run by barring crappy sites.
Well, we *do* keep telling them that here, but I do sometimes wonder if they listen at all. I think serious competition might shake them up a bit.

I would say there are a few here, but I think many of the threads here started by the get rich quick brigade. In my case, I started the site some years before adsense existed. My site was well estabished and respected before I put adsense on. The reason I put adsense on is purely to cover the costs of hosting the site - not to make a humungous profit.
I don't use adwords - my site is easily found by just keying in the most logical keyword on any search engine. I only put banners on pages that I know they will work on, and even then I limit the banners to only a few throughout the entire site. Less is most deffinitely more IMHO.
I think it all comes down to wanting to feel good about what i do.
For example I have a web site that I have added a load of information to over the years. It has adsense but makes very little, hovering somewhere as it does in the Alexa top million.
As such when I find the time, I will have no objection to reworking the site applying some SEO, and placing ads' around the content. I think people looking for answers on certain things will be happy to end up on my pages, and I will be happier if they end up clicking on a few adverts.

Or to complain that they've been booted by Google. Maybe Brett needs to "sandbox" new members until they've read a certain number of threads on "Why has my account been disabled." :-)

Same here.

Since I'm in an experimental phase, I just decided to put up ads in every content page. At first I wanted to take the high road, and not "sell out" certain pages, but now I'm just curious what will happen.
My overall strategy is:
* consistent ad placement (same place per page)
* ubiquitous ads (like I said above, ads on all content pages)
* layout that integrates the ads into the structure of the page, making the ads obvious but not annoying. I use the google heat map as a guideline.
That's about all I've done so far. I know there are many more considerations, such as choosing the right keywords, etc. Although I'm reluctant to start changing content just to improve keywords.
I've been reading lots here at WW. Good resource once you get past the influx of get-rich-quick posts.
Nobody really knows if smartpricing works on ad block, page or site level. Maybe a combination of all three - who knows. Therefore my personal method is to try and keep the overall site ctr up by not having loads of ads being displayed with low clicks. I do this by dumping non-performing banners.
I've been coming here for about 15 months now with the sole purpose of learning how to tweak every last penny out of adsense.
I too would like to discover a technique to gain more traffic.
All income is adsense since jan 1 but it has started to dwindle this summer.
Keep the tips and techniques coming!
I'd suggest assigning a channel to each banner
I knew I forgot to mention something. I have URL channels set up to uniquely identify each page. It's focused enough for my needs. As for the CTR, I haven't been at the AdSense thing long, so there isn't enough data to make any conclusions. Right now I'm not too concerned with individual page CTRs.
I reread the original post, and it was about getting traffic. That sort of question really depends on the type of site. For anyone who's had a content site up for a while, it's usually a slow progression to increased traffic. A lot of little links can help. For example, it's nice when someone posts an unsolicited link to my site in a message board. Of course the catch-22 in that situation is that the person normally finds my site via a search engine, so I would've needed a good PR in the first place. So, to get things moving in the first place, you'll have to take the initiative with some link exchanges or by submitting content to reputable content aggregators.
The formula is basic. You NEED trafic to get clicks.
From there it is refinement. ad placement. site content. site market <--- extemely important.
serps come with the above and some inbounds.
none of it happens overnight, but after a while, it only take a few weeks to get a new site ready.
