BASE target="_blank" & AdSense

Would this cause ads to open in a new window or not?

I know causing ads to open in a new window is against the TOS, that's fine, but I'd like to have all other links on my page open in a new window.

So, if I use <BASE target="_blank"> in the HEAD of all my pages, would clicks on AdSense ads open in a new window, or are they explicitly defined somewhere by Google that their target should be "_parent" or something?

I can't actually test this because I don't want to click on my own ads, and I don't have another computer at my disposal :)

Technically that would be modifying the code, which is also against the TOS.

Has anyone got a more authoritive answer? Are there any known issues on this ground?

It won't work because adsense ads are served up inside an iframe which your <base> tag cannot affect.

It doesn't matter if you tinker with the HTML or not, you can't open a new window!
