This is an interesting document showing up now in your AdSense accounts. At least it is new to me, and I couldn't find reference to it anywhere else, so I believe it might have been added on the 16th when all the other documents were updated. It does lack a date though.

It covers things such as ad sizes, positioning on the page, robots.txt, content-rich pages, colors, filtering, etc.

If you are familiar with the Google AdSense terms, faq and policies, this tips page draws upon the relevant optimizing tips from all three, along with some common sense optimization tips thrown in as well.

This is great for the new AdSense publisher, and for those hobbie site owners who may not be familiar with how to optimize a page. But for longer-term AdSense users, there is probably not much in here that is new.

But a good addition to the various AdSense documents that Google makes available to publishers.

I first noticed it over the weekend. I think it may have been added shortly after the 10/16 TOS revisions.

Thanks for the link, Jen!

I couldn't find the link to the tips page anywhere, even though I've been logging in to my account on an average of about twice an hour. ;)

The aesthetics like color and placement really can dramatically affect CTR, those are some great tips they're giving.

Click on the Help link at the top righthand corner of your screen. You'll see Optimization Tips at the end of the list.
