Blocking Ads?

Give the publishers more ability to block certain types of ads (based on type, not the source). If the Union of Concerned Skeptics has a page that is 100% critical of psychics, why would Google run ads for psychics there? Because there are lots of ads for psychics? Not a good reason! The publishers don't like it, and the typical reader there is skeptical and won't click, or might click to see what ridiculous tripe is being pushed. Then smart pricing dings the website, when the problem is innapropriate ads.

Yeah, there need to be limits, or everyone would say that their readers want to know about mesothelioma. But publisher's should be able to block and request certain ad key words, in this case, like "rationalism" "science" "science books" and "science toys." These words may or may not already appear in a page, but often are not directly relevant to the article, and even when they do appear, they usually don't draw the ads.

Have you tried the new section targeting feature? Maybe you could use it to give less relevance for the terms you don't want showing up:

In general though, I would say that Adsense is not a good fit for sites that are "against" a certain topic.

Actually, this will work nicely. In my case, I have a page discussing aluminum widgets, cast iron widgets, and those silly edible magnetic widgets. If I can focus attention on the aluminum and cast iron widgets and away from the edible widgets, things will be better. Thanks.
