Hello,

I'm planning to develop a domain that I recently purchased although it will be quite some time before the domain is ready. The site is still indexed by google and the domain itself generates decent traffic via type ins & bookmarks.

Will I get myself into trouble with adsense if I throw up a splash page about the coming site and also the adsense code? The site is still receiving traffic from google and is retaining a PR 4.

Am I setting myself for trouble considering this?

Thanks,
Chris

That is an interesting question. Policies say "Ads must not be displayed on any domain parking websites" but nothing against putting up a splash page with AdSense on it.

Policies also say the site "must be launched" but that could also be up for interpretation. I doubt it would be accepted if you applied for it with the site, though.

Any one else with experience putting AdSense on a one page site?

How hard would it be to make about 5 simple HTML pages with content releated to your future site? That way you would at least get targeted ads...and wouldn't violate any of the TOS conditions.

Hm, I don't want to disclose anything about the future site until it's released.

I suppose I could put together something small in the interim, I was just curious whether I'd be required to or not.

Then, you must be building a search engine ;) LOL

hehe no then I'd NEVER want to disclose anything about the site :P

Seriously though, rethinking this I really don't want to put up more than a quick splash. It probably won't land me more than a couple hundred per month but, well, that's still a couple hundred... It's not going to be worth it if I get into some kind of hassle with adsense and google however.

If you do get into a hassle with Google, it can make it more difficult if you plan to run AdSense on it (or any other site) in the future.

That said, I have seen other one page domains running AdSense now, and they are little more than a picture, a few paragraphs, and AdSense ;)

I doubt it would be accepted if you applied for it with the site, though.

Agreed, but even if they did, you'd probably get mostly PSAs that don't generate any revenue.

I wouldn't do it.

Ok, thanks for the help guys/gals. I'll just skip it to make sure I don't run into any trouble.
