Hi,

Im considering implementing a simple script on some of my pages to move the Ads at random.

For Example:

Random 1 =

-----------------
AAAAAA CCCCCCCCCC
AAAAAA CCCCCCCCCC
AAAAAA CCCCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
-----------------

Random 2 =

-----------------
CCCCCCCCCC AAAAAA
CCCCCCCCCC AAAAAA
CCCCCCCCCC AAAAAA
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
-----------------

Random 3 =

-----------------
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC
-----------------

Etc...

But my concern was that google might think my normally static pages are being generated on the Fly for search engine promotion... i.e. to fake fresh content.

Has or does anyone any experience with this kind of thing - and is it worth while?

BTW... thanks to one of the other posters for the A=Ad and C=Content example which I have used here :)

Cheers,
Stuart

Hi,

I (slowly) automatically rotate my page layout and the ad placement within the layout.

I think that it helps.

It also seems to keep the MediaBot on its toes and the ads targetted...

I am just thinking about the same.

But my concept include the tracking, how are different layouts doing (it is easy to track this with channel).

I think it is not against the rules and if you use the Section Targeting, you do not need to worry if the AdSense code is closer to one part of the page or to another.

Hi,

I am starting to add tracking to measure (and do more of) the best layout in terms of CTR, but you really do need to try to get a decent sample size for this type of thing IMHO.

Move the ads around at will. Be sure to track the click rates on the different sections. It could mean be the difference between a 1% click through rate and a 20% click through rate.
