I abandoned images ads very quickly. On my small site, it's just not worth it as it means I get even less income.

To a large extent, it may depend on your site (the layout, the topic...). Why not take the "heat map" as a starting point and do some testing to find out what works best for you?!

Hi Eltiti, not sure whether your post was aimed at me, but I did some limited testing. I used the heat map to choose locations for my adverts, and text ads just seem to perform better.

At the levels that I am seeing them pay for 1000 impressions I can easily see how much they would make, given that i don't get much more than 1000 impressions a day. An Individual click pays more than these do for a whole day.!

FYI, text ads can be CPM as well, it's not limited to just images.

That explains why I get payments on some channels without clicks then :-) I figured it might be, but I hadn't read it anywhere before..

this is my 3rd day, so im sure its normal to earn just quite few. i did some testing. and it seems 1 click = $0.83! but that the problem.. clicks are very limited since i have to put the ads at the footer. i know about the heat map but i still have problems putting the ads at those locations. thats a forum, so i usually get an average of thousand impressions a day. thanks for your opinions guys.

Lowkei –

The AdSense heat map can be found on the AdSense Optimization Tips page located at:

[google.com ]

There are many ideas on this page designed to help publishers increase their site’s revenue potential. The heat map shows the locations on a web page that we’ve found to be most effective for placing ad units.

Good luck with your site,

-ASA

No, it was actually in reply to the post above yours!
