I have one site that gets a lot of (cheap) traffic, which I use to link people to a smaller, higher-earning niche site.
I notice that when I follow a link from the "big" site to the smaller site, I often see PSAs.
Is this Google punishing sites whose traffic only comes from one place, or a coincidence?
Anyone else noticed this?
Public service ads appear for a variety of reasons, but traffic should not impact your ad targeting. It’s difficult to troubleshoot this problem without seeing the actual pages involved (feel free to sticky mail me with more information if you’d like).
Robots.txt files, session IDs or dynamic URLs are some of the reasons you might be seeing PSAs. Additionally, if your code has only been running for a couple of days, you might need to wait until our crawlers index the content of your page before relevant ads start to appear.
I recommend visiting the following page, which covers many of the probable reasons you could be seeing PSAs:
[google.com ]
Also, please make sure you have opted in to display both text and image ads on your page. If you have opted in to image ads only, we may not have a large enough image ad inventory to display ads related to the content of your page.
If none of these reasons seem to describe your situation, try emailing adsense-support@google.com for assistance.
