They are saying NO pop unders on publishers sites.
Site may not include:
Pop-unders or exit windows
Also.... And this is the major one.
The urls have to be visible. I was hiding them with the colors and Google said that was fine but now it would appear that they have to be shown.
Elements on a page must not obscure any portion of the ads, and the ad colors must be such that the ad text and URL are visible.
I have checked the coding and all 4 ad formats now carry the url. In the past I think the Inline rectangle did not carry the url. It does now.....
They say : Pop-ups that interfere with site navigation, obscure AdWords ads, change user preferences or prompt a user to change his/her preferences (such as a user’s home page), or are for downloads
I believe the above statement was there right since the commencement of the program. I have both pop-ups and pop-unders on my site and Google never said anything about them.
But now the new policy suggests laying off the pop-unders.
They will probably wait a while and then start pulling up sites on this.
They have hidden this thing about the pop unders under a bit of a smoke screen with the new TOS.
The thing is the program policies are just as important as the TOS.
Still money talks.... so off come the popups...
