OK, simple question. Am I allowed to have adsense on an ebay listing?

I have emailed adsense 3 times so far and still have no reply.

Anyone?

Maybe you should ask ebay! i doubt that they allow third-party ads on their listings.

And I doubt that this is allowed under AdSense either. You don't own ebay. Your ads should only be placed on sites you own or control.

According to ebay TOS:

listings may not include
"HTML or JavaScript that automatically calls remote scripts and pages (such as JavaScript includes or iframes)"

I would say adsense falls into this category. I like the way you think though!

Hunderdown, as far as I know, you can run ads on a site that is not yours as long as you have permission. I have asked Adsense, 3 times in fact (see my message above), but I don't get a reply.

Mediaspree, thanks for that, I didn't know ebay did not allow it (even though I have seen many scripts running on listings, like the little talking pop-up wizard

As long as you have permission from AdSense or from the site's owner? My assumption is that you have to be authorized by the site, or run it yourself. I can't see Google being happy about people posting AdSense code as part of their contributions to a forum on mesothelioma, for example.

But I freely admit that I am not basing this on a careful rereading of the TOS--just what seems reasonable to me, given the way AdSense works.

Read eBay's linking policy. It doesn't look like they allow advertising of any kind. Google would also almost certainly say no.
